If personal data (such as names, postal addresses or email addresses in the contact form) is collected on our web pages, this will always be on a voluntary basis to the extent that it is required to answer your enquiry. This data will not be shared with third parties without your express consent.

1 Information on the collection of personal data

(1) The following section outlines how we collect personal data when you use our website. Personal data refers to all data that can be related to you personally, for example your name, postal address, email addresses and user behaviour.

We delete the data generated in connection with this when its storage is no longer required, or we restrict the processing of this data if there is a statutory duty to retain it.
(4) If we make use of contracted service providers in order to provide individual functions of our service, or if we would like to use your data for marketing purposes, we have set out in detail below how your data is handled and the criteria we apply when determining how long to store your data.

2 Your rights

(1) In your relationship with us, you have the following rights with regard to personal data relating to you:
- Right of access
- Right to correction or erasure
- Right to restrict the processing
- Right to object to the processing
- Right to data portability
(2) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.

3 Collection of personal data when you visit our website

(1) If you only use our website to obtain information, that is to say, you do not register or send us information by any other means, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you would like to view our website, we collect the following data that is technically required in order for us to display our website to you and ensure its stability and security (legal basis: Art. 6(1f) [A1]GDPR):

- Language and version of your browser software
(2) In addition to the data listed above, our website stores cookies on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive in connection with the browser that you use and by means of which the body issuing the cookies (in this case us) receives certain information. Cookies cannot run programs or infect your computer with a virus. They are used to enhance the overall user-friendliness and efficiency of an online presence.
(3) Use of cookies:
a) This website uses the following types of cookies. Their scope and functionality are explained below:
- Transient cookies (see b)
- Persistent cookies (see c)
b) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. This includes session cookies in particular. They store a so-called session ID, which is used to attribute different requests from your browser to the joint session. In this way, your computer can be recognised if you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.
c) Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a specified period of time, which may differ depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies at any time using the security settings in your browser.
d) You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and, for example, reject third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that, in this case, you may be unable to use all functions of this website.

4 Newsletter

We inform you about us and our services in our newsletter. If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require, in addition to your name, a valid email address and information that enables us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided or that the owner of the email address has given his/her consent to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected. This data is only used to send the newsletter and is not shared with third parties. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your IP address and the date on which you subscribed. This data is stored solely to provide evidence in the event that a third party misuses an email address and subscribes to the newsletter without the knowledge of the authorised person. You can withdraw your consent to the storage of the data and your email address and their use for the purposes of sending the newsletter at any time. To withdraw your consent or unsubscribe from the newsletter, you can click a link in the newsletter itself.

5 Social media plug-ins

(1) We currently use the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Xing and LinkedIn. We use the so-called two-click solution for these plug-ins. This means that, when you visit our website, no personal data is transmitted to the providers of the plug-ins in the first instance. The plug-in provider can be identified by the branding on the box around its initial letter or its logo. We give you the opportunity to communicate directly with the plug-in provider via the button. Only if you click the marked field and activate it will the plug-in provider receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online presence. In addition, the data specified in Paragraph 3 of this Statement will be transmitted. In the case of Facebook and Xing, according to the respective providers in Germany, IP addresses are anonymised immediately after collection. By activating the plug-in, your personal data will be transmitted to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (in the USA in the case of US providers). Since the plug-in provider collects data, in particular via cookies, we recommend that you delete all cookies in the security settings of your browser before clicking the greyed-out box.
(2) We have no influence on the data collected and the processing of this data, nor are we aware of the full extent of the data collection, the purposes of the processing or the retention periods. We also have no information regarding the deletion of the data collected by the plug-in provider.
(3) The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as usage profiles and uses it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such an evaluation is conducted in particular (even if users are not logged in) in order to display needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise it, you must contact the respective plug-in provider. Via the plug-ins, we offer you the opportunity to interact with social networks and other users so that we can improve our service and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is Art. 6(1f) GDPR.
(4) The data is transferred regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged into it. If you are logged into the plug-in provider, your data collected from us will be directly associated with your existing account with the plug-in provider. If you click the activated button and, for example, link the page, the plug-in provider also stores this information in your user account and shares it publicly with your contacts. We recommend regularly logging out after using a social network, but especially before activating the button, as this will prevent you from being associated with your profile with the plug-in provider.
(5) For more information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and its processing by the plug-in providers, please refer to the privacy statements of these providers, which are listed below. These statements also contain further information on your rights in this context and the configuration options to protect your privacy.

6 Matomo web analytics service

(1) This website uses the web analytics service Matomo to analyse use of our website and improve it on a regular basis. By using the statistics generated, we can improve our service and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of Matomo is Art. 6(1f) GDPR.
(2) For the purposes of this analysis, cookies (please see Paragraph 3 of this Data Protection Statement for further information) are temporarily stored on your computer. The information collected by this means is stored by the controller exclusively on its server in Germany. To protect your privacy, we have selected the “do not track” option; you therefore do not have to opt out. No cookies will remain on your computer.
(3) This website uses Matomo with the extension “anonymizeIP”. This means that IP addresses are truncated before further processing so that they cannot be directly related to a specific individual. Your IP address transmitted using Matomo will not be associated with any other data collected by us.
(4) The Matomo application is an open source project. You can find further information on the third party’s Privacy Policy at matomo.org/privacy-policy/.

7 Embedding YouTube videos

(1) We have embedded YouTube videos in our online presence. These videos are hosted at www.youtube.com and can be played directly on our website. [All the videos are embedded using the “enhanced data protection mode”. This means that no data on you as the user is transmitted to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only when you play the videos is the data specified in Paragraph 2 transmitted. We have no influence over this data transfer.]
(2) When you visit the website, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data specified in Article 3 of this Statement will be transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube provides a user account that you are logged into or if such a user account is non-existent. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores your data as usage profiles and utilises them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such an evaluation is conducted in particular (even if users are not logged in) in order to support needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise it, you must contact YouTube.
(3) You can obtain further information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and its processing by YouTube in YouTube’s Privacy Statement. This statement also contains further information on your rights and the configuration options to protect your privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google also processes your personal data in the US and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Google stores your data as usage profiles and utilises them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such an evaluation is conducted in particular (even if users are not logged in) in order to support needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise it, you must contact Google.
(3) You can find further information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider in the provider’s data protection statement. This statement also contains further information on your rights in this context and the configuration options to protect your privacy: policies.google.com/privacy. Google also processes your personal data in the US and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

9 Google Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google to ensure consistent display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required web fonts in your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you use must establish a connection to Google’s servers. Google is thereby informed that our website has been accessed from your IP address. We use Google Fonts in the interests of ensuring a consistent and attractive presentation of our online presence. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1f) GDPR. If your browser does not support Google Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used. You can find further information on Google Fonts at developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s Privacy Policy: www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
